Confluence 7.4 with postgresql 11.7?

Chris Schulte May 13, 2020

I would like to upgrade Confluence from 7.2.2 to 7.4. I've been using postgresql 11.7 without any problems so far but when I run the pre-upgrade checks, it says that my database version won't be supported.

Has anyone had a problem with that? Is there any plan to support postgresql 11 in confluence?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

PostgreSQL 11 is not yet supported, the corresponding suggestion is to be found here:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-57432

From my personal view using an unsupported database is nothing I would do in a production environment.
There is a reasonable risk that you are denied support as the database is an unsupported one.

Cheers,

Thanks @Daniel Ebers

We were using PostgreSQL 11 for the original setup because that's what we were using for Jira. I made the update and it seems to be working ok. From the comments on the link you gave me, it looks like a lot of people are waiting for psql 11 support (last post: 30/Mar/2020). It looks like Confluence with psql 11 is almost there. Hopefully, this question will be obsolete in the next few months.

Thanks again!

Chris
