Confluence API in Jira Plugin

Hello,

I have a JIRA plugin (Spring Boot) on my on-demand JIRA. I wish to call a confluence API (search API) from the JIRA plugin. I am facing "401 Unauthorized" problems. I see that this can be done by developing another Confluence plugin. However, what kind of Confluence plugin should be developed and how should the two plugins be linked/authenticated to successfully hit the API?
