On going to my Confluence Cloud homepage, I obtained the message below - "Page unavailable - Your Atlassian Cloud site is currently unavailable. Please check Atlassian Status for known problems. If there are no known problems and your page hasn't appeared again in 5-10 minutes then please create a support request for assistance."
After originally posting this question here I found a workaround before the Community was able to respond, so I had my question deleted, but someone got in touch to say there's merit in sharing the info as to how this was resolved.
So firstly, I have been using Cloud for years. Secondly, I access one workspace from my work using a specific user account that can access only that space (and the default) - in other words, daily. However thirdly, I had just updated my PC hardware to a newish box running Win 10. Before that update I had been accessing Confluence using Chrome (and before that, Firefox) on some old Windows PC (ie from work - plus other machines from home).
To the present issue, if I went to:
myaccountname.atlassian.net
I would get the above message - this happened in Firefox and IE/Edge. Atlassian Support got back to me and asked me to try accessing the site/account using incognito mode in my browser. I did this in Firefox and was able to access the site.
Coincidentally (?) the (non-incognito) tab I had open in Firefox before this, subsequently crashed, and when I clicked the option to restore the crashed tab, it was able, again, to access Confluence.
Support also directed me to clear browser cache/history, etc - I did this in IE/Edge (which I rarely use) and it made no difference. Even after the Firefox (non-incognito) tab crashed, was restored, and then was able to access Confluence, IE/Edge still could not (and still cannot) despite fully clearing all data/cookies/history/saved passwords, etc, etc.
So the *workaround* is to use incognito mode.
The *fix* is still unknown.
Needless to say, Atlassian's Status page was not reporting any issues that day (yesterday).
Last point - even though I had just upgraded my PC hardware, earlier in the same day and also on a prior day, I had been accessing Confluence using Firefox on this newish Win 10 PC without issues - so while the hardware upgrade is near in time, it's not a simple explanation.
Cheers to Kyle for suggesting I provide the extra info.
Did not work for me
