Confluence Experts

Hi all,

I work in a start-up and we are going to use Confluence for our Intranet. Perhaps a naive question but I want to work with folks to 1) help us figure out the information architecture for our Intranet and 2) help us with graphic design to have it match our brand and help with layout.

I am  not sure however what skills are most necessary to do this and work with Confluence. Java, is that right and what else would you be looking for in persons? I am not technical myself. 

Welcome any advice on how to find Confluence experts and designers.
