Confluence Hardware Setup?

Matt Uebel

I am preparing a new installation of Confluence, and am trying to get a good idea of the best hardware to provision for this application.

Atlassian's documentation is alright, but it doesn't seem to be able to answer my questions.

At peak, we could end up with 50-100 concurrent users. Here is my proposed layout:

Application Server with 4 cores and 8GB mem. Virtual machine running RHEL 6.4
External Database with 4 cores and 8GB mem. Virtual Machines with redhat and Oracle 11gR2
NFS mounted on Application server at the attachments directory.

Do any other admins out there have anything to say concerning this configuration? How does it compare to your own installation? In particular, what have you seen when running an Oracle DB?

I believe your hardware enviroment is ok. Running Oracle works fine, but personally I prefer MySQL or PostgreSQL.

Please cehck this documentation that provides some guidance to setup Oracle database:
