I would like the ability to block specific users/groups from being able to find people using the search function. I've successfully blocked users and groups from being able to access the "People" function but they can still search for their name and a profile option will appear. Once this is clicked they can then go through the other People type on the advanced search screen.
I reviewed the following article but it is dated and possibly new solutions could be available.

Summary:
All internal employed staff should be able to access the People directory and find team members profiles.
Clients that log in should not be able to search for and find an employee using the search functions.
