Confluence: Links to Download files from the website don't work in IE11. What can be the problem?

Hey everyone! 

I'm using Confluence 6.6.2 server-based. My website works well in Google Chrome, but has a lot of bugs when I open it in Internet Explorer 11. E.g.: pdf/doc files can't be downloaded or previewed. The screen freezes and the circle keeps rotating forever. The "Share" button on the right corner of the screen doesn't work either. The icons on the top panel are not displayed. These problems are only visible when using IE.

Maybe someone had similar problems and could help me to figure out the solution?

My unscientific guesses are browser add-ons, Compatibility mode or cache in IE.

Unfortunately, that article didn't help. The problems persist.
