Greetings,
I'm using the WebDAV facility for the first time, to import some DocBook files I've converted to Confluence Storage Format into a Confluence space.
I used Windows networking to authenticate myself to the WebDAV plug-in on the server, using my normal Confluence user ID. I've noticed while WebDAV'ing around the Confluence "file system" in Windows Explorer, I seem to be able to read pages other than those I'd normally have permission to read when navigating the Confluence page hierarchy through the Confluence UI.
Is this what you'd expect? If so, why does it work that way? I expected that the server-side of the plug-in would enforce page permissions according to the user with which I logged in. Is the only page-upload alternative (for those who wish to import files in the Confluence Storage Format, to preserve formatting), the use of a plug-in?
That should not be the case. In our instance it respects the Confluence security model. What version are you on?
