Confluence anonymous user cannot view attachments

Confluence 4.3.7

I allow Anonymous to view some spaces within our Confluence instance. It can browse/read pages within those spaces but can see any attachments, i.e. see broken link.

The default setting for the Confluence instance is no Anonymous access.

Is it possible to all Anonymous see attachments associated with a viewable space?

allow Anonymous to 'View User Profiles' (Admin --> Global Permissions --> Anonymous Access), Anonymous can see attachments and embedded images (which are attachments afterall).

If I allow Anonymous to 'View User Profiles' (Admin --> Global Permissions --> Anonymous Access), Anonymous can see attachments and embedded images (which are attachments afterall). Not prefered solution but works.
