Confluence - copy one page to a new one

SAlevy July 29, 2025

I know you can use a template, but I want to copy an entire page with sub-sections and make a new page with a new name without recreating a template? Is that possible? I have tried a number of things and nothing seems to work or are very complicated.  Thanks!

Hi @SAlevy

There is a "duplicate" menu item available in the 3 ellipsis, towards the top right corner. I would give that a try and rename your page accordingly.

Hi,

not sure if I understood correctly your need, but I've been using a "template" page in which I use a "variable" I change whenever I copy (duplicate) it. For example:

  • Parent page name: <team>'s page
    • Subpage name: <team>'s meeting policies

When copying (duplicating) the parent page under the page's ... menu you can choose to replace text, for example <team> with HR and the result would be:

  • Parent page name: HR's page
    • Subpage name: HR's meeting policies

When copying you can also choose to add text to start all the duplicate pages with a certain word.

Aand instantly when I posted this I read "copy ONE page" and my solution doesn't work with just one page. :(
