We know that confluence takes daily backup of the existing data in the system, also the data is stored in a DB.
Our question is that incase the DB gets corrupted or data is lost due to accidental delete or Disk failure etc. Is the daily backup sufficient to restore the DB back in its original state.
Or do we need to take the back up of DB as well?
Hello Abhishek,
The automatic backup is fine for small and evaluation instances, but we do recommend that you have your own production backup strategy as well.
Please have a look at the page above for information on configuring your own backups for use in case of corruption or data loss.

Hello,
We recommend setting up a separate DB backup as well as backup of home and installation directories. Built-in XML backup is great, but once your production instance becomes large, it might become inefficient, take longer to run and require to consume more server resources. Saying that you can still restore your instance using XML backup, as it includes DB backup too.
Have read of our Production Backup Strategy on best practices and recommendations on setting up production backups.
Regards,
Igor
