Hi Everyone,
we are using confluence 7.4.7 which is server based. we have scheduled daily XML backups which are happening properly in temp folder of confluence . but they are getting deleted automatically with in a day.
Kindly help us to know how can we customize or change the time period for the same.
Thank you in advance.
The temp directory is not the best place to keep backups because there is a cleanup job indeed.
Did you specify that location yourself? Because when I look at a default configuration the backups are stored in the backups folder of the Confluence home directory.
Please be aware that those XML backups are not recommended as actual backups. When your instance grows those backups will take a lot of time and they are not always consistent.
It is better to use database backups and to backup you file system.
Hi @vivekrao_k There was a suggestion about setting up retention policies in the Backup Administration configurations on confluence server, but it was not implemented due to limited demand. I couldn't find any such settings either, so as a workaround you can write a shell script and setup a cronjob so that it will copy the backup to some other location where you can retain it as per your needs.
