We often use page restrictions to restrict page access to a certain group of users.
It is very easy for a user to add a page restriction so that confidential content is easy to protect. Unfortunately it is equally easy to remove the page restriction again and since the view restriction is inherited through the page tree, the restriction is removed from a whole bunch of pages with a single click.
We would like to have some kind of enhanced workflow for removing page restrictions. This could be a simple warning (e.g. You are removing the view restriction from 15 sub pages! Are you sure? ...). Another possibility would be some kind of four eye principle, so that someone else has to confirm this.
At least it would be nice, if the permission to add restrictions could be separated from the remove permission. (Similiar to the permissions for add and remove pages, news and comments).
Is there any solution (plug in) available for this problem?
In confluence admin there is a page where you can add custom html. You could fairly easily put in some JavaScript to ask the user "Do you really want to remove this restriction?" when they click the remove link. As for the four eyes method you would need to write an add-on for that.
