Confluence @mentions: some mentions change to <ac:link />

[Confluence 6.13.4 , Data Center]

Hi,

one some pages we encounter a rather queer problem: if we try to @mention, some, but not all mentions immediately change to a link pointing to the very same page. The pages name is "2019.07.09 Jour Fixe" and you'll find things likemention_01.png

In the <> code it shows:

<ac:structured-macro ac:name="status-handy" ac:schema-version="1" ac:macro-id="fc83b281-0eb7-4faa-b159-e4082c207270">
<ac:parameter ac:name="Status">planned</ac:parameter>
<ac:parameter ac:name="id">346893</ac:parameter>
</ac:structured-macro>
<ac:link /> Jour-Fixe am ...

instead of something like

<ac:link>
  <ri:user ri:userkey="xxx" />
</ac:link>

So teh @mention lacks the ri:userkey part and is marked empty.

We thought, the handy macro could be the reason, but the issue also appears at the end of lines without any handy makro at all.

What could cause this?

Regards
Uli

Hello there Ulrich!
We can start by hitting the browser caches and instance cache. Here is how we can clear the instance cache:

  1. Click the Cog Icon at the top right corner
  2. Select General Configuration
  3. Find Cache Management
  4. Scroll to the bottom
  5. Click to Flush All

If the above yields no results, we can try to use another browser or clear the current browser cache. There is also this doc that points to a similar situation as the one described by you:

Let us hear from you Ulrich!

As far as I can see at the moment, flushing caches seems to solve the problem.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

unfortunately the problem reoccurred.

Obviously, it has nothing to do with import from another Confluence instance. All mentions are set in the very same Data Center installation.

What's remarkable: the problem sometimes occurs and sometimes it doesn't, while working on the very same Confluence page.
