Confluence server upgrade from 7.8.1 to 7.13 failed to upgrade

Stefan Nanescu September 6, 2021

Hello

After Confluence upgrade from 7.8.1 to 7.13 it does not start and shows this error in web page:

Confluence had problems starting up

This page is for Confluence administrators. If you're seeing this page, your Confluence administrator is probably working to restore the service.

Hi @Stefan Nanescu

seeing your initial post I believe the database you are using is unsupported - SQL Express 2014.

Compatible databases as of "Supported Platforms" (https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/supported-platforms-207488198.html) are:

SQL Server 2016
SQL Server 2017
Azure SQL

Please double check if you can switch/migrate to a supported database. The error you are seeing could be indeed caused by using an unsupported database.

Regards,
Daniel

Hi @Stefan Nanescu

Since these are Database schema related errors, it is best to get support from Atlassian for troubleshooting. Please raise a ticket with Atlassian support.

Hello,

This is the way I sent a ticket in  https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/  having my product SEN.

I did not find any different path to report the issue, except that Ask a question now link  ( https://community.atlassian.com/t5/forums/postpage/choose-node/true/interaction-style/qanda?add-tags=confluence&from-gsac=true ).

Please send more info about how to report it.

Thanks!

Hi Stefen, yes the first link you mentioned is correct - where you can use "Technical issues and bugs" in "What can we help you with" dropdown and just fill in the rest of the details like your product, SEN , issue details and submit it.

Stefan Nanescu September 7, 2021

Hi

I did it, but do not know how to continue after select the SEN.

There is nothing to allow me to send something, no option, after the field: What is your Confluence Support Entitlement Number (SEN) ...

I have faced such issues in the past with older chrome version. Can you try some other browser and see if you are able to raise support ticket there.

Stefan Nanescu September 7, 2021

Hi,

I am using Firefox.

Tried also on Chrome and looks the same.

No place to add my issue.

Can you add my above issue in a ticket?

Thank you!
