I want to create a link to another space in the sidebar with the customization in Look and feel -> Sidebar,header and footer. I know I can just do this [linkname] but I want to be able to set a title for the link, is that possible ?

I used the space key in the sidebar field [ds:] as described in Confluence Wiki Markup and it displayed as the space name (Demonstration Space) on the sidebar. Is that what you meant by setting a title for the link?
