Hello Community,
I have enabled iptables on our confluence server but now confluence has slows down drastically.
As soon as, I drop iptables policies, confluence performance backs to normal but with iptables its miserable.
Has anyone else experienced such kind of issue ? And if there is any known issue or resolution to it, please help with it.
Thanks
Vishal
Hi!
Here's a quick guide:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/running-confluence-with-firewall-on-linux-693896826.html
What rules have you added to iptables? Do they correspond to the ones in the article?
Hello Grigory,
I had configured specific ip's to take ssh, had allowed http & https connection from all sources, had allowed our backup servers, allowed connection going out from confluence to return back & connection to itself.
But missed 2 - Allowing the Confluence's port to be reached behind the firewall, which apparently seems to be quite important :)
Thanks a lot for the help, so far I can see the performance is as good as it is without iptables. I didnt have to reboot the server though.

Hi @Vishal
I'm glad it worked out :)
I think it's enough to restart or reload the iptables service after new rules are added.
P.S. By the way, you might want to mark the answer as "accepted" so that people with the same or similar questions would find it easily.
Have a nice day!
