Confluence upgrade

can we upgrade confluence from 5.6 to 6.7. what things we should be taking care of when we upgrade . please help

Hi @Padmasree P

First make sure you have a valid license. 

Shut down confluence. 

create a backup (also from database)

Then just use the installer. it will ask you a few questions. (make sure you select upgrade.)

If files where altered/added the installer will tell you. 

copy those files and afterwards proceed with the installation. 

Do a diff between old (copied) files and the new files and make the modifications if necessary. 

Start confluence and keep your fingers crossed. ;-)

After the upgrade it can take some time before it is started again so be patient.
