When using a custom template to create pages, how do I get it to automatically fill in the title of the page from the template? I had assumed it would just copy the template's title and then I could modify it however I like, but the new page appears with a blank title box.
Macro "create from template"
You can define the page name
Repi,
That's some great advice! Thank you for sharing.
Rory, if you're not familiar, the macro that Repi is referring to is this one: Create from Template Macro.
Using this macro, it will embed a button on your page which you can click to create pages from a specific template. There's a Template Title parameter you can use to set the title when using this macro.
Keep in mind, however, that it will only set the template title if the user creates the template from this button. If they were to create a page from the template using the regular + menu, it will not set the title, and the title will need to be set manually.
I hope that clarifies things for you!

Shannon

Hello Rory,
Good afternoon! Happy to answer.
Page templates aren't able to be set right now via templates, but we have a feature request for it below:
Many of the templates that you use in Confluence are actually part of a blueprint, and they are setting their titles in order to work within the blueprint. For more information on blueprints, have a read here: Confluence Cloud Blueprints.
Let me know if you have any questions about that.
Regards,
Shannon
