Create a pre-filled jira ticket based on drop downs in confluence

Grzegorz Rozek March 21, 2025

I am trying to create user experience on a confluence page where they enter data into a form and this creates a pre-filled jira issue.

I am able to get pre-filled content into "Create Issue" via REST api. The piece that I am missing is how to create a call to rest based on form fields.

Ideally I would want the selections to concatenate into a string I can attach to a link.

I don't have access to confluence internal file structure, nor to scripts. I need to make it work with available plugins I am afraid.

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi @Grzegorz Rozek ,

Question - what are you using to build forms in Confluence at the moment? This isn't natively supported so I'm guessing you're using Marketplace app or something else.

On the other hand, have you considered using Jira Forms? From what you've said, this might cover your requirements.

Basically, you can create a form and embed it on the Confluence page so everyone can submit new items (no Jira license required).
