Create from Template Button: How do I review what this button selects as it's parent page?

Currently, I have my Create from Template macro on one page with an Excerpt macro around it. Users, on a different page can click the button because I have an Excerpt Include macro with the button there. 

Previously, when doing this, the new page would be created under the original page where the Create from Template macro is housed regardless of which page you were using the button on. However, it now creates the child page under the page you are currently on (despite it still being a excerpt and excerpt include). 

I wanted to know if there was anyway I could look at a way to just configure where this button created pages or any solutions. Previously this worked like a charm since, in my mind, the Create From Template macro was still, technically, on its own page while being accessed through another. 

Thoughts? We did just move from a local server to cloud... but I wouldn't think that would impact this.
