Creating a Confiform Chart in Confluence - TableViewMerger

I have a confiform on a confluence page which is gathering date.

Each row on the confiform table is a project.

Each project has a status - set by a radio button.

I need to create a simple pie chart, showing the total number of each status.

I have searched the confiform documentation and found out that i need to use the TableViewMerger in order to create a table that i can then create a chart on.

Unfortunately the TableViewMerger is proving quite difficult to navigate and while there are examples, like the link below, they dont actually screenshots from macro dialogue box and I cant figure it out.

https://wiki.vertuna.com/display/CONFIFORMS/TableViewMerger+macro+to+help+us+to+count+registrations+by+user

Does anyone have an example of how I can setup the graph?

PS - In case anyone from Confiforms reads this - your video says you can create graphs easily !! but then there are no clear instructions on the site

Hi

Thank you for your feedback.

Creating charts from ConfiForms data is really easy as you just place the TableView or TableViewMerger macro inside the Chart macro and configure your chart macro the way you need.

There is nothing to add there really - how to use the chart macro itself you can find on https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/chart-macro-163415075.html

I used the table view to create 2 charts from a from (approved, and pending) side by side and it works fine, the only thing I cant figure out is how to change the color of one of the charts so it stands out more. I can select single color (but not specify which color), mult-color, or color from table column. However, I can't find anything on how to setup a color for the table column in the table view for the chart. Not sure if any of that makes sense, but if anyone has a solution it would be great to hear from you.

Hi @Barry Smyth ,

As you've mentioned the three options to set colors for your graph (single-color, multi-color and color from table column), it seems that you are using not the standard Chart macro but the Chart from Table macro coming with the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app (that is our add-on).

If this is the case, you may refer to our documentation (navigate to the type of graph that you use and then choose the "Set colors" section).

If you are still stuck, please refer to our support. Attach the screenshot of your source table in a published state (with visible headers) and a screenshot of the Settings tab of the Chart from Table macro - we'll look into the issue.

Ah, I get it now and thanks. I didn't realise you would have to have a column within the table which held the colours. Very helpful!, But unfortunately that option really isn't practical when using the confiform tableview to create the table inside the chart from table macro.

I also note that when using the confiforms table view inside the chart from table macro, there is no choice of colors available. Single Color is green with no option to change, multicolor is what it is but I cannot change individual columns.

So if I have two charts side by side, having them both green isn't helpful. And adding a column to the confiform records for a colour isn't practical. Is there any other way to change the column color??

Please check if the column names that you use in the Chart from Table settings are correct (use the autocomplete hint when choosing the names of your columns).

Sometimes the macro builds the graph correctly but doesn't allow you to change colors if the headers of the source table were changed but the Chart from Table macro settings remained the same.

If the issue persists, please refer to our support. Attach the page storage (upper right corner -> menu ... -> View storage format), we'll recreate exactly your page and check.

The issue with chart from tables is limited to paged or displayed records. How can we create metrics based on all records in the database with filters exceeding fifty records restricted by Admin on tableview.
