DB recommendation - Confluence upgrade from 5.5 to 6.3

We are in the process of upgrading Confluence. At present we are in Confluence 5.5  and moving to 5.10 or in 6.x.  Currently having backend as MYSQL and wanted to checked if Confluence 6.x support MYSQL.

If it does not support what will be the best option.

It does support MySQL - see https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/supported-platforms-207488198.html for versions
