Hello, everyone!
I'm trying to migrate a space from the old Confluence (4.3.5) to the new one, but an error occurs.
Backups created before Confluence 4.0 (build 3047) cannot be restored. This backup does not have a build number.
But this version of Confluence is newer.
Also the exportDescriptor.properties file has the following information buildNumber=3396
How do I solve the problem?
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
The error message about 4.0 is not actually the problem here. It's just a warning that Confluence 4 and above simply can't read backups from versions l, 2, or 3. The storage format completely changed, and the code to upgrade it was hard enough to write, let alone duplicate it all into the import as well!
Later versions of Confluence can only read older version exports (and the older they are, the more problems you will have). From memory, Confluence 7+ only supports imports from 5.3 (ish) and above files (but won't stop you trying 5.0 upwards with some warnings about some data that won't import properly if you've used it)
You have two options:

You need to first check the export and import compatibility between the source & target confluence
To find out which versions your current Confluence version can accept space exports from, go to > General Configuration > Backup and Restore.
If you need to import a space from Confluence 5.3 or earlier, you'll need to follow a workaround.
