We are migrating the confluence server to cloud.we have already have our users configured in cloud site. But we are not having all the apps configured in cloud
so we are planning to migrate just the spaces and planning to install the spaces manually.
To migrate just the spaces, shall we go with XML space import or still is recommended to use ccma?
Please give us the difference between what gets migrated with respect to XML space import and ccma space migration?
Here is what migrated with CCMA - https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/what-migrates-with-the-confluence-cloud-migration-assistant/
Here is what migrated from XML Backup - https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/import-a-space-from-confluence-cloud-967876449.html
You will need to set up the directory before you perform the XML restore into Confluence Cloud and then restore the permissions.
Thanks,
Pramodh
Hi @Pramodh M
Any way we are going to migrate only the spaces in CCMA without user data.In that case which would be better approach?
It seems in that case both of the approaches are similar,am i right?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Yes both methods should do the work. But I prefer CCMA over XML restore, as you will get the logs and see how many users you will provide the access while migrating the space.
Thanks,
Pramodh
