Displaying Event Type 'Jira Project Releases' on Team Calendar

Jamie Scott November 14, 2019

Hi all,

We've just installed Team Calendar for Confluence and want it to display our Jira Releases

Steps we've followed on our Calendar

1. Create an EVENT

2. Choose Calendar: The calendar we are using

4. Event Type: 'Jira Project Releases'

5. Select the Project (which is a drop down of all jira boards?)

6. Enter a Name (can it be any name?)

7. Click OK

At this point we were expecting to see on the calendar, each of the Jira Releases (Past and Future), however, this is not happening. Nothing is showing up.

Any ideas?  I'm not wondering if our Jira Releases are setup correctly or a connection isn't working?

In Jira Cloud, Once you have added  event type = "Jira Project Releases" it creates calendar entries. How do you remove all the calendar entries? I added the event type twice.

Hello Jamie,

Welcome to Atlassian Community. It's nice to have you.

The dropdown you get in #5 is a list of your Jira project names, which may share the same names as the boards. You just want to select the project that your releases are in. The name in #6 can be anything. It'll just be what shows up in Team Calendar as the name of the event type:

As for your releases not showing, Team Calendar considers any Versions which have been released, to be a release. So if you have any unreleased Versions, they won't show on the calendar. By the way, it will only show the Version release on the release date. It is not going to be a range between the start date and the release date.

Can you confirm if that was your issue?

If you are expecting to see Versions and their start and due date on your calendar, then this is not possible, unfortunately. We have a feature request for this below:

  • CONFSERVER-51695 Visualise the start and end date of JIRA versions in Team Calendars

If that is what you were looking for, please vote on the above request and you will automatically receive updates on this in the future.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Shannon
