Officially, AIX is not on the list of operating systems that Confluence is supported on. (It's Windows or Linux for the server, that's about it).
However, Confluence generally works on any system that you can run a JVM on. It's been a while since I worked with AIX, but if it still runs Oracle's java ok, then you can run it. As it's not officially supported though, if you do run it on AIX, the response to a support call might be "please move to Linux", but generally you'll find Atlassian try to help before resorting to that.
