Edit File button is missing in confluence data center

Our users are trying edit the Excel files with in the confluence but they do not see Edit file button and when they click file preview option and trying edit the file and it is saying download Atlassian Companion app, i have tried in Google chrome, Firefox and IE also but i is not showing at all.

Mittapalli, reading the description you gave it us it seems that you are using a version of Confluence higher than 6.10.x.

But we would like to confirm a few points with you.

1. Has this worked at some point?
2. Which version of Confluence are you running?
3. Are you able to install the Companion App?

From Confluence 6.11.x onward, we now need the Companion app for the edit feature. You can check a little more about it here:
