Edit and undo Link make unnecessary line break

Hi,

When editing page, in Edit link box, fix Link etc, pushing Enter will make unnecessary line break in addition to Save.  After that, Undo will do both removing line break AND resetting the Link fix. I think it's not expected behaviors.  How to fix it?

Thanks,

Hello again @Ryota Hashimoto !

As I understand, editing an already existing link and pressing the enter key after applying the desired changes ends up adding a line break after the link.

I tried to replicate this behavior in both the New and Legacy Editor. While using the New Editor (Fabric), I was unable to replicate this behavior. Here is what happened:

However, when I tried the same while using the Legacy Editor (tinyMCE), this behavior was present. Here is what happened:

As a workaround I was able to use the Backspace key to remove the line break and then add a white space after the link using the space bar.

Currently, there are no active improvement or small bugfixing efforts for the Legacy Editor. I would weight whether or not the Legacy Editor should be kept around within your production site. Mostly because of these reasons:

  1. There are no improvement efforts for the Legacy Editor (it is to be used “as is”)
  2. New flows may be introduced and the legacy editor will not be part of it. An example of it is the new creation flow.
  3. No minor bugs are going to be fixed.

While there is no foreseeable future where we completely remove the Legacy Editor, it will be increasingly out of pace with new features and flows implemented within Confluence itself.

You can, however, keep it active if you need it:

Hi Diego,

Thank you for providing behavior between those two.  For us migrating pages to the new editor would be the solution.

Thanks,
