Hi!

In Confluence, we noticed one of our pages (likely more that we just haven't found yet has a few broken images.

Screenshot 2025-04-01 at 5.13.55 PM.png.                                           I clicked on the 'i' icon and saw that it said "External media."

Next, I navigated to our actual page and clicked on the image to see if it would open since it only says a "preview is unavailable", and this is what it looks like:

Although it's not shown at the top, a link to the photo is included. I copied the link into a and entered it in a browser and it took me here:

I cleared my cookies, tried it in incognito mode, updated my browser, and even updated my settings specifically for Chrome, which is what our users use and nothing seemed to work.

I read that apparently

"The HTTP 403 Forbidden client error response status code indicates that the server understood the request but refused to process it.
This status is similar to 401, except that for 403 Forbidden responses, authenticating or re-authenticating makes no difference.
The request failure is tied to application logic, such as insufficient permissions to a resource or action."

I guess at this point I'm just trying to check that this is not a confluence issue?

Most likely the images are only visible if you are logged into google.  You (or your browser) are likely logged in, however the Confluence server is likely not logged in and can't "view" the images.
