Event handler of the publish button

Hi, I'm trying to execute a window.alert() inside the click event handler of the publish button. 
First, I tried with a $("#rte-button-adhoctasks").click() and AJS.bind(“init.rte”, function()) but doesn't work with any version. After that, I changed it to Confluence.Editor.addSaveHandler() and it work in some confluence versions (eg. 6.15.9) but still fails in others (eg. 6.10.1).

Am I missing something?

Could you help me to understand what it is you're trying to do? I suspect that you might be attempting to develop an add-on for Confluence.

If so, you might want to check instead with our Developer Community. That community is more focused on developing for Atlassian products, whereas this community is for helping end-users mostly.
