Expand/collapse widget still not screen reader accessible

I had seen another inquiry about this from 2018 and supposedly an accessibility audit was being conducted and this still has not been addressed in 2022. What accessibility improvements were implemented resulting from the audit? How is this component among others still not accessible?

Is accessibility built into the PDLC process when creating components? I think Confluence is a great tool however it is very limiting when we are limited to which components we can use due these not being screen reader accessible.
