Explain Confluence search results when using a label

We have performed a search on the Atlassian Cloud today, that is returning a large difference in the number of results.  Would like to understand more about why we are seeing the difference, when it would appear the search criteria is passing the same information, we are just entering it in different areas of the screen.  See attached screenshots.

example 1: use the LABEL filter on the left side, then enter an additional search term using the search box at the top.  Returns 4 results

example 2: use the labelText: function and also an additional search term, by only using the search box at the top.  Returns 545 result

Hi Shari,

 If you type AND in your 2nd example, (for example, labelText:videos-cl AND hygiene), do you get the same number of results as in example 1?

I believe that without the word AND it defaults to an OR search, which would explain why you get so many more results.

Per the Search Documentation:

• For an OR search, specify multiple values in the same field.

• For an AND search, add more than one filter and specify a single value in each.

For this reason, when you don't include AND and you have both values in the same field, I believe it is using the OR search instead.
