Export to HTML exports ALL the images ever used on a page

When I export to HTML, all of the images that have ever been used on a page are exported, and not just the image used on the current page.
They land in ...\<exported folder name>\attachments.

Is there a way to ensure that only the image on a given page is exported in the HTML package?
