FAQ for company service users

Olga Yemelyanova August 1, 2019

We need to make a public FAQ for all new service (our platform) users. In this case, the number of FAQ readers is unknown. What Atlassian could suggest for this case?

Hello Olga,

Welcome to Atlassian Community. It's nice to have you.

I'm not quite sure what it is you are asking here, but allow me to elaborate on how you could do this in Confluence.

  1. You can host the FAQ in Confluence, and require a login in order to read the FAQ. This is if your users are all licensed in Confluence.
  2. If you are not able to license your users in Confluence (due to financial reasons or they are only customers) then you can make your FAQ public. For more information, have a look at Setting up Public AccessNote: When your pages are public then anyone on the internet will be able to read your FAQ. Search engines will also index your content and make it available in search results (i.e. Google).

I hope that helps, but do let me know if you have any questions about any of this.

Regards,

Shannon

Dear Shannon, thanks a lot for a detailed reply. What kind of space do you recommend to use for FAQ?

Thank you in advance!

Hello Olga,

You don't need a specific space type, you can just create a space and begin to add your pages with the FAQ listed on them.

As an alternative, some 3rd-party add-ons offer some pre-configurated FAQ Blueprints that you might be interested in:
