Hi everyone,
topic: space import from Confluence Cloud to Confluence Data Center not working
we have exported a space as XML from one Confluence instance, which is cloud-based, and would like to import it to a Confluence instance, which is on premise (data center license).
The file looks OK (attachments, entities.xml & exportDescriptor.properties are all included) but when we drop it under the correct directory /var/local/atlassian/atlassian-confluence/ on the server (Confluence on premise), the import doesn't work properly and we don't know why.
Is there anything we need to pay attention to?
Thanks a lot,
Kristin
Hello @Kristin Beck
As you informed that the import does not work properly, can you please share the error message which shows up on the screen.
Also, I would suggest checking the logs for the confluence server which will have the details of the error.
If you share the error message, this would help us suggest appropriate solutions.
Hey Gaurav,
thanks so much for your very quick reply!
Please find attached a screenshot of the error message. We think it might also have to do with the file's structure, which has been exported as XML from the Confluence-Cloud instance

Hello @Kristin Beck
Please create a copy of the exported file, unzip it, open the entities.xml file and look for ZLIB.
Also, please scan the logs on the server for the error message details. It will provide you with more insights into the root cause.
I would suggest opening a case with Atlassian as well for this issue.
