In prolonged collaborative edits i can never remember where we left off and which topics where the most intensively discussed ones.
The poor man's approach we're using is a combination of explicitly formulating next steps in a dedicated section, marking some sections with a icon or highlighted text and relying on each others memory. But that's really painful and feels like a lot of wasted time and opportunities.
I'm aware that the diff view has some of these information but only a fraction and not really convenient.
What would be nice is to have a vertical bar with a heat scale per line which, maybe for a customizable time range, marks the lines with the most changes for that period. The changes wouldn't be based only on version diffs but really on actual changes during edits.
Is something already possible, maybe with the api? I had a glance but couldn't find any data which could be used to implement such a feature.
Or maybe it's the wrong approach and there are already best practices to keep track of large documents which evolve over a long time?
