Getting error in confluence:
Unable to render (include) The include page could not be found.

I serve as the Jira Administrator, and it's perplexing that certain pages are hidden from my view. My team reported this issue to me, and upon investigating, I encountered a situation where some pages are visible in the "include pages," while others are not. I suspect this issue may be related to permission settings, but I'm struggling to identify the exact cause. Could you kindly provide some insights or suggestions to help resolve this matter?

Hi,
We've identified the issue, and I've conducted a test as well. The error encountered is due to the
length of the page title. There is a current limitation in the include macro – if the included page has a title longer than 103 characters, it triggers this error.
The solution is simply to reduce the length of the page title. Thank you!

Good day @Shikha Verma

Adding to Nic's response, I've been stuck in similar situations with permissions.

  • Were the pages migrated? Could you check if your explicit user has edit permissions?
    • When migrating, even I as a product admin, need to give my username edit permissions. Don't ask me why, it's already rooted in my brain to check.
  • Could you also check the parent page?
    • I've overlooked this setting a couple of times.

Hope this helps or add some ideas to the checks!

Best
Rodrigo

@Rodrigo Thanks for getting back to me.
I have set up the parent page restrictions "Only specific people can view or edit"
Is the issue happening because of that?
Can you please suggest.

Hello @Shikha Verma

  • That setting should work; just ensure you are part of the group with edit permissions (or that your user is given them directly in that list).

Another crazy idea, could you check Space Permissions?

  • In my test instance, due to migrations and testing, I have multiple Confluence Admin roles that even I get confused (long story).
    • Doublecheck the group that you are in and give it all permissions, likewise, give all permissions to your "Individual user".
  • Otherwise, you could create a ticket with Atlassian... Here the inspect user permission would be great, but it is only for premium subscriptions.

And that's all I can think of.. Best of Luck!

Hi Shikha,

This is exactly what it says it is - the page named in the "include" macro does not exist.  Although it might also mean "you are not allowed to see the page being included"

Edit the page the error is on to see what page is being included, and check that it is a valid and visible page.

Administration rights do not mean "can do anything", they mean you can be an administrator.

Use te admin rights to inspect your access to the space.
