Grouping attachments in Confluence

Hi

We are currently using Confluence 5.10.4 and I would like to find a way to group attachments.  At the moment we upload attachments to a page and then use the ‘Attachments’ macro to display the list of documents.  This works well but I would like to find a way to group attachments to make it easier to identify documents by type.  e.g. Requirements, Specification, UI, API, Archived, etc.

I thought about using the label but you can’t group or sort by the label field.

Has anyone found a solution to this?

Regards

Geoff

Hello Geoff,

you can put a label to every attachment and restict the attachments macro to the specific label

You could try to store document type into file name and with attachment macro filter it with regurar expression.

This is how I've done it at a couple of companies; works great.

Thanks for the suggestions.  The using labels will be the best for us since we don't want to change the files names.
