"Template" is an accurate word to describe what Confluence templates do. A template provides something in a certain shape when you are creating a new thing.
You can't apply templates to existing pages, because that's not what they are for. If you could apply a template to an existing page, all it could do is destroy all the existing content and impose its own content in it.
You've got an empty page now, I suggest you simply make a note of the name, delete or rename it, go back to the page it was underneath, and create it again, using the template you want to use, and giving it the saved name.
Hi @joseph.marshall ,
You create a page from a template, you cannot add a template after the page has been created.
In that case I would create a new page from a template and actually save it as an (empty) page template.
Then you could copy/paste the template portion of that page into your existing page.
