Hi,
I'm trying to create a bar graph in Confluence that displays real time Jira data from a number of Jira filters.
To do this I've created a table, in the table I've added a Jira macro with JQL returning the number of issues.
I've inserted this table into a Chart macro and can see the expected data in the edit preview. However when I publish the page the chart doesnt load.
This is being tried in Confluence Cloud, using new editing pages.
Has anyone tried this and succeeded?
Published page
Edit page
Edit Preview in Chart macro, showing the expected chart when published.
Thanks
T
Hi @Tom Williams ,
The Chart macro doesn't work with dynamic macros. When you are in the macro preview, your data uploads in a static way and you see the result. But on the published page it renders dynamically and the Chart macro can't "catch" the result.
For example, if you create similar table manually, everything will be ok both in the macro preview and on the published page, cause your data is static.
We can recommend you to try our app - Table Filter and Charts for Confluence.
It works with the Jira Issues macro perfectly well. Here you can see customized and visualized dashboards based on the Jira issues.
Besides you don't need to use JQL to count anything or somehow aggregate your data - our app covers everything.
I'm sure your app is great....but its not free and this kind of feature should be improved in Confluence OOTB.
Thanks for explaining why this doesnt work.
