Help with formatting Child TOC

I am editing a doc that has a Child TOC with Excerpt. Which is fine, but it takes up a lot of real estate. I think it would be more concise / useful to put it into a two column table. Is it possible to do that? If yes, how do I do that. I am not a coder as such, so code example would be very welcome.

SOLVED it!! I removed the h3 in the macro and it collapsed the the content beautifully!! not in a table but that is OK!!!
