Hi Team, I am trying to use "Excerpt Include" Macro but unable to use the same.

Hi Team,

I am trying to insert the "Excerpt Include" Macro in the page and then as soon as I select the page in the field know as "Page Containing the Excerpt" after that for long time I don't get an option to Update (Greyed Out) the page and after few mins i get an option to update and then when I click on Update I get an error message as per the below attached screen shot.

Hi Kishan,

I followed the KB article and tried all the steps given in that but nothing happened,  the Excerpt Include Macro is still not working.

I have tried turning of the Collaborative editing but still its not working.

So when using the "Excerpt Include" macro , when I click on Preview I could see the data but as soon as I Click on the "Insert" nothing gets inserted and after sometime I get the option to update the page and then as soon as I click on update I get the error message as -

"Unable to communicate with server. Saving is not possible at this moment". please find the attached images.Excerp include - no data is inserted when click on Insert.pngExcerpt Include preview- Data is visible.png

Hi Shrikant, thanks for trying those options, seems like the underlying problem is something else. I tried it on my test instance and it works fine for me. I would suggest raising a support ticket with Atlassian for further help and post here once you have a solution.

Few questions -

Do you have the same page open in multiple tabs in your browser ?

Have you tried any other browser or tried the same actions in Incognito window and see if it works ? 

Do you have Collaborative editing turned "ON" on your confluence site ?

Do you see any error messages in the atlassian-confluence.log file about it ?

No

Yes but the same issue persists

Do you have Collaborative editing turned "ON" on your confluence site ?

Yes

Do you see any error messages in the atlassian-confluence.log file about it ?

No

You can try turning off the Collaborative editing and retry the actions to see if it works.
