This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Edit Office Files

Hi there, my colleague has Windows10 with the Firefox browser (48.0.2). Unfortunately, she cannot use the 'Edit Document' button from her browser. Any ideas?

She gets the following error message in Firefox:

"Sorry, we couldn't open "https://confluence.*.*/*.xlsx"

Microsoft Excel cannot access the file "https://confluence.*.*/*.xlsx". There are several possible reasons:
-The file name or path does not exist
-The File is being used by another program
-The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook

I have Windows 8.1 with IE 11.0.9600 and I can edit the file fine when i open the Confluence page and click 'edit document' next to my excel file. This is the ‘Office Excel’ Macro'. It also works on my machine with Firefox 47.0.1 and 48.0.2.

For now as a workaround, she installed IE 11 and that works ok, so we know it's not the file that is the problem. Thanks.

I have the same problem with Firefox 47.0.1 on a Mac OSX 10.11.6. Unfortunately, since I can't use IE and this feature doesn't work with Chrome or Safari, it doesn't do me much good any longer.
