We are running confluence 5.2, and have installed and configured the Hipchat plugin via the administrative panel. What we've noticed is that when it puts a link in the configured channel, and says something like "page updated by $NAME", it only lists the original creator of the page or blog post, not the name of the user updating that page. This is obviously a little problematic with a wiki, as other users are updating pages all the time.
I have been unable to find any configurable options for this plugin that would affect it, but perhaps I missed it? Or is this a known bug with 5.2?
