×Hello,
I am trying to perform an upgrade to 6.8 from 5.7 as we are far behind and finding it enormously troublesome trying to go by your documents. The installation is fine (just running the installer), but configuring the back end database is WAY out of our scope of understanding as well as my colleagues. We are a network shop that depend highly on the Confluence app to be running, and every time I try to upgrade the version, something breaks and have to restore the server.
This is creating an outage for us as we rely on this to be running at all times.
I need assistance on configuring the newest update and have nowhere else to turn. We have no SQL experience nor any other for that matter; IE, Tomcat, MySql, etc..
Please help!
Thanks!
The problem for most of us here is that simply following the docs is good enough for almost all of us.
What sort of errors are you running into ?
Not running into any errors; yet. Once I perform the upgrade running the executable, that's literally it. I cant reach the site anymore, and when I try and access the site locally, it just times out. In the document, it says that I need to copy some drivers from the old database drivers, but those are nowhere to be found. I have literally gone through this 5-6 times already and have failed every time because it feel like there is a DB issue that I have no way of troubleshooting. What I find funny is there is mention of 6.8 not being compatible with the legacy DB that 5.7 uses, but while trying to go through the configuration for that, I literally destroy everything.

What does the log say the problem is?
Can you check the exact compatibilities between your databases and versions?
