How can I add a simple colored rectangle

Stefan Pichler October 18, 2022

In the old editor one could add a simple colored rectangle with a specific color. This is a major documentation issue for us. How can I do this in the new editor?

Would it work to use the emojis for that as you can upload your own custom emojis?

Can you set a color for an emoji? Didn't find such an option.

You can create an emoji that looks like what you want. Just make a set of colored rectangles and upload them. If the size is big enough that is?

Then somebody has to maintain the files of the colored rectangles on a fileserver. If (s)he has to add a new color (s)he needs access to the file-server (which lots of users don't). Seems pretty complicated for a simple colored rectangle.

No, you upload it to the emoticons, and it will be there forever, or at least until you delete it. Then you can use it from the emoticons function anytime you need it.

So I've uploaded 20 rectangles in different colors. Now someone finds out that an additional color (number 21) is needed. He does not have access to the rectangle templates on the file-server (or does not know where to find them). He will not be able to make the rectangle with the 21st color, right?

Ah, yes.

That is something you need to keep track of.
