How can I add a user to only 1 Space?

Tracy Katelman September 18, 2013

I have created many different spaces, and I only want specific people (users) to have access to specific spaces, not all of them. Nor do I want my users to have the ability to create spaces and such. I've read about permissions and adding users, but am not finding what I need. Thanks!

By default all users are part of the confluence-users group. If a space isn't created as private, the confluence-users group is automatically added to it's space permissions as having view rights. To restrict spaces to only allow specific users access remove the confluence-users group from the space permissions and add each user individually or group the users into their own groups and add the group.

In the Admin Console you can change the global permissions to restrict space creation to either specific groups or specific individuals.
