Dear all,
I have created a bunch of hierarchical pages with sub-pages (6 levels of depth) in Confluence.
I would like to transfer them from my private Confluence space to my employer's one.
How can I do that with limited knowledge about Confluence? I do not want to access API. Are there built-in solutions or (commercial) extensions?
Thanks in advance and best regards
Chris
Hi @Christian Rosenzweig and welcome to the community!
In such situations I personally prefered the built-in way of exporting and re-importing a space. It requires to have these pages including attachments in a separate space. If they are in a space with other documents, I recommend creating a new and dedicated space and either copy or move the whole page tree including attachments to this space.
Then you can follow the steps described under section "Export (back up) multiple pages to XML" in this article: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/export-content-to-word-pdf-html-and-xml-139475.html.
It's important that you only select this export method as only this one restores your content in its original form in the target Confluence.
Once you've exported your space, you should be able to download it as a zip file.
Using the explanations on the following page, a Confluence administrator will be able to import it to your employers Confluence site again: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/restore-a-space-or-multiple-spaces-152036.html
As your user account likely differs between your site and the site of your employer, the Confluence Admin will need to adjust the space permissions after the import. But this will also make sense to make sure that no one who shouldn't be able to see the content is able to see it.
I hope this helps!
Greetings
Philipp
