Hey guys, I want to label some tasks in a Project and I do not know how to. I want labels like in the picture, with different colours. I mean the ones like SPACE TRAVEL PARTNERS, LOCAL MARS OFFICE, etc. Would you explain it no me please?
Also, do you think that using those labels and also some quick filters are a good idea to control different small projects in the same board? I want the coloured labels to differentiate each small project and I will create some Quick Filters also to differentiate each project also.
Thank you guys :)
Hi Carlota
Those "labels" are Epics. Whenever a ticket is linked to an Epic, the summary of the Epic will display on the card.
You are able to get 3 additional fields to show on each card - this can be configured by going to Board settings, then selecting the Card layout tab. You can have different fields showing on the Backlog cards to those on the board. BUT ... these fields are not shown in any colour, so not quite what you're hoping for.
Each physical "project" should be set up as a separate Jira project, unless they're really tiny. Then you can set up a board to include any number of those projects. Using the label / quick filter concept is good enough, or you could use swimlanes to distinguish projects.
Perfect. And how can I create Epics in a Kanban Board? I prefer to be coloured so it is more visual to people.

If you go into the Backlog, you will see a link for Versions and one for Epics. Click on Epics and it opens out where you can create, edit or view the epics

Yep, but I do not why but I do not have the Backlog:

By default Kanban boards are set up with no Backlog. If you go into Board settings and then the Columns tab, there will be a section on the left called Kanban backlog. You would need to drag your first column to that. People usually only open up the Backlog if they have a largeish number of "not started" tickets, where your first column is long.
